Australian Shepherds Info – Some Benefits on Socializing Your Aussie

Our Australian Shepherds also need to be given the chance to socialize with people and other pets like them.  Basic Australian Shepherds info will tell us that just like its pet owners, they too need to socialize and as responsible dog owners, we need to take then out for a walk regularly to give them that chance to meet other people and animals like them.

Bringing your Australian Shepherd out often will make him develop social skills and this can contribute greatly on his development to be a good pet.

What then are the benefits of socializing your Aussie?

• Mental and physical stimulation - We know than an Aussie is a very active dog and it constantly needs exercise so it does not get bored.  When you bring your Aussie outside your house for a walk, it gets to exercise with the short walk and seeing so many people can help stimulate him mentally as he gets excited and learns how to properly react to whatever he sees outside your house.

• Lessen the possibility of an attempt to runaway – Dogs like human beings also run away from home.  Aside from running away, it will also lessen the instances of running wild around your house which may cause accidents.  They usually exhibit this behavior if they are isolated in the house and do not get exposed

• Avoid having your Aussie attack house guests – Socializing your dog will give them the idea that there are more people living in this planet, and not only him and the family of his owner.  This is very critical to prevent your dog from accidentally attacking and possibly biting your house guests.

Socializing your Aussie basically introduces him to the environment that you live in and exposing him to the things around you which he may encounter.  It is like exposing your little baby to the world so he does not get ignorant on things and occurrences around him.

Australian Shepherd owners need to learn Australian Shepherds info on socialization so that they get to raise a well-trained Aussie.  Remember that your Aussie is not only a pet which you must utilize as a watch dog or a herding dog, but see it as a creature that needs love and socialization.

Australian Shepherds Dogs – How to Teach Them Not to Bite

Your pet is always your responsibility.  Whatever damage it does to people or property, will be your liability.  We all know that some dogs are very reactive to strangers, just like Australian Shepherds.  Dogs with this breed should be trained properly to avoid accidents of having them bite your house guests.

It is hard to get a guarantee that your Aussie will never bite anybody.  Even the most well-behaved dog should not be trusted a 100% not to react and bite strangers or even people they know.  But there are some things which you can do to prevent such thing from happening.

According to experts, a spayed dog has lesser chances of biting because the procedure reduces their aggressiveness.

Being a responsible dog owner, you should let your Australian Shepherd socialize with people.  You may do this by taking your dog for a walk everyday.  Getting your dog familiarized with strangers does not remove its ability to safeguard your house from any intruders.  What it does is reduce the level of aggressiveness of your pet when it gets exposed to strangers.

While we want to get a dog that will safeguard us, we should never push our Aussie to run after people or even tease them.  They sometimes forget that we are just playing with them and they tend to bite when we are caught off guard.  Teasing your dog is a big no-no, especially when you are dealing with food.  People often get accidentally bitten because they hold food in their hands.  If you want to feed the dog, never put the food in your hand.

There is also a need to watch closely for any signs of aggressiveness of your dog to other pets or animals.  If you really doubt there is something wrong with your dog, it is better to get help from the experts.

In the end, it will always be precautionary measures that will save your Australian Shepherds dogs from developing the habit of biting people.  Always avoid having your dog too excited.  Though it is cute to see them reacting excitedly, we must always think of the consequence of doing it often.

How to Impose Obedience to Your Australian Shepherds Puppies

Having Australian Shepherds puppies in your homes can bring you bundles of joy, but you need to teach it how to behave properly so you won’t get headaches every time your puppy misbehaves.  Imposing obedience to your puppy is a very essential both for you and your pup.

The Aussie pup is conditioned to obey the rules that you set, the moment you have him trained to be obedient.  The first thing that you need to do is to learn how to communicate with your pup.  Proper communication is an integral part of training your dog for obedience.  If you do not know how to communicate properly with your puppy, you cannot convey the message that you are trying to relay.  So how is it done?   Talk to your puppy and demonstrate it so that your pup understands what you are trying to say.

Seeing your Aussie urinate and defecate on your carpets will pretty much irritate you, but you can do something about this by giving your pup the proper toilet training.  Showing them a place to regularly urinate and defecate on will prevent accidents in the future.

Several puppies have died because they get hit by speeding cars in the streets.  You will need to train your pup never to go into the streets, especially when you open your doors or your gates.

Unwanted behaviors that we may see in our Aussie puppies are actually normal behaviors for a puppy.  Hence as a responsible dog owner, it is our duty to impose discipline to our pet and make them behave properly inside our homes.

When imposing obedience, it is important to establish your authority to the puppy.  The moment your pup acknowledges you as having authority over him, training comes in easily.  Just as how you will impose discipline to a child, doing it the military way will not accomplish what you want.  Earn the respect of your pet by showing him that you care for them and you love them.

Dog commands like “No”, “Stay”, and “Sit” when training and use it every time you want them to obey those commands.  Hearing these commands repeatedly will make them understand what you are trying to convey.  Remember that Aussies are very intelligent.

Whatever the outcome of your Australian Shepherds puppies training will be make an effort in acknowledging your dog for any good behavior it exhibits.   Never maltreat your Aussie if you have difficulty training it.  You can never teach a pup to behave if you show them your anger.

Tips on Taking Australian Shepherds Pictures

Portraits of your Aussie will surely be a nice and cool thing to keep.  Taking pictures of animals can be an art because unlike human beings, you cannot teach them to pose and smile at the cameras, but there can be endless angles and ideas which you can use to capture Australian Shepherds pictures.

Having a digital camera should come in handy especially if you are not a professional photographer.  With a digital camera you get to preview the picture you have just taken and discard it if you are not happy with it.  Not all digital cameras are great though, considering that your subject will move anytime they want.  So you must use one that works best with moving subjects.

So you think you can take one best shot of your pet with just one click?  Well think again… I would advise you to take several shots at several angles of your Aussie so you can actually have a wide selection of the picture that you would like to keep and delete the not so good ones.

Try to experiment when you are working with your dog.  You can try capturing a picture of him while he is playing, sleeping, eating, walking or just doing nothing.  You can even try to play with his looks.  Dress him up to make him look more adorable.  Take a picture of him alone, with your family members, or with other dogs.

Do not force your dog to pose for you if he is not in the mood.  There may be times that your dog would run away.  You can still try taking pictures of your Aussie by using the zoom features of your camera instead of running after him.

Once you have learned how to do it, it becomes easier the next time.  Best Australian Shepherds pictures would not be that hard to capture after all, and you do not need to be a professional photographer to take great shots.  All you need is your creativity and imagination.
