Basic Ideas on Australian Shepherd Breeding

Australian Shepherd breeding is not an easy task.  You need to work hard, invest money, and devout time to it if you want to be successful.  Of course you must have a purpose in breeding Aussies, otherwise you’ll simply give up everytime you encounter some problems or complications.

First in mind that one needs to consider when breeding an Australian Shepherd is to have a facility for dog breeding.   Choose one that provides plenty of room.  You need a large facility for your adult Aussie to be able to move around and exercise.  You also need a large facility to avoid crowding your dogs especially when your Aussie puppies arrive.

Now if you’re breeding Australian Shepherds for business purposes you must check with your local government what the prerequisites are before you operate.  There are requirements that you need to comply and it might take awhile before you get approved.  For whatever it takes, be patient and always remember that you need to secure a permit and must be licensed before you can proceed.

If you’re going to breed Australian Shepherds you need to be aware of its needs, temperaments, and health issues.  Try to join an organization where you can get and share ideas in breeding Aussies.  Aussie puppies need to be socialized with other animals, children and strangers.  Also have them checked by a vet and provide your puppies with their first set of vaccinations before you allow them to go to their new owners.  Moreover, you need to come up with their registration papers if you want to earn a good reputation in breeding Australian Shepherds.

Australian Shepherd breeding requires a lot of patience especially for beginners.  More often than not we commit mistakes but what is important is we learn from those mistakes.  Always keep an open mind and have fun!

Toilet Training Your Miniature Australian Shepherd Puppy

Toilet training your miniature Australian Shepherd puppy is very important not only for the little puppy but for you as the dog owner.  You would not want your dog to just pee or leave his poop anywhere inside your house, especially in your expensive carpet and furniture.

As young as your mini aussie puppy is, you need to train him where to pee and poo properly so your house will not smell stinky.  The trick is to train your little puppy where to pee and poo and when to do it.  Having a scheduled time everyday will help avoid instances of having your puppy go anytime he feels the need to.

One thing that you must consider when toilet training your mini Aussie puppy is you need to exercise a lot of patience.  It simply does not come that easy, and you do not need to beat your puppy to death if in case it pees or poos in your carpet.

Because you are trying to toilet a train a puppy, you need to know that just like little babies, your mini Aussie puppy does not know how to control his bladder and may just eliminate any time they feel.  As a cautious pet owner, you then have the prerogative to take out your puppy regularly to give him time to pee and poo.

It is best to take out your puppy upon waking up, after eating and just before sleeping.  But of course, it would be more effective to take your pup out once every hour or at least 2 hours.  This will condition the mind of your mini Aussie puppy that the toilet is outside and not inside the house.  Do you know that dogs will look for the place where they last left their waste by smelling for it?  Hence you need to bring him to that place every time.  It also makes it easier for the puppy to pee and poo.

It would be very fulfilling in your part as the owner of a miniature Australian Shepherd puppy to see how your puppy avoids staining your carpet and furniture, but always remember that there will always be instances when your puppy will fail no matter how toilet trained he has been.  When this happens, just remember not to punish your puppy or push his nose to the spot where he left his pee and poo because it will only make him hate you and possibly instill negative behavior to your puppy.

Are you a proud owner of a Red Australian Shepherd?  Does your family love to travelling together?  You need not worry of leaving your pet behind your house especially if you are planning to take long trips.  And besides, it isn’t advisable to leave your Aussie alone in your house for long hours.

When travelling with your family, it is important to take safety precautions to ensure the safety of everybody on board the car, including your red Aussie.  So be sure you keep these important tips in mind to make your trip safety and for everybody to enjoy the trip:

• Do not forget to buckle up - We all know it is SOP to let everybody use their seatbelts when travelling, but do you also know that dogs need to buckle up too?  You may use a seatbelt or harness to keep your dog from moving inside the vehicle during travel, which may cause accidents.

• Never place your red Aussie in a trunk or at the back of a truck - Be aware that your red Aussie needs to travel comfortably like you do.  Placing him at the back of a truck or in a trunk may cause him to feel too hot.  Remember your dog is a living thing just like you who needs fresh air constantly.

• Provide breaks for your red Aussie to stretch or use the bathroom - When travelling an extremely long trip, it would be best to stop for a while to let your dog stretch his legs and also give him time to pee.

Whatever the purpose of your travel is, make sure your entire family and your Red Australian Shepherd travels safely and most of all fun for everyone.
